Liga MB top team - Metapan (17-1) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Ahuachapan (5-13) 109-81. Metapan dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Ahuachapan's 40. Metapan looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Ahuachapan's players. It was a good game for Cuban center Marvin Cairo (203-1991) who led his team to a victory with 31 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field). American guard Noah Harris (185-2002, college: SNHU) contributed with 32 points and 9 assists for the winners. Metapan's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. answered with 29 points and 7 rebounds for Ahuachapan. Metapan have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 17-1 record. Ahuachapan lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 13 games lost. Venezuelan guard Maximillion Bell (198-1999, college: Lane) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 blocks for the winners and Eduardo Diaz chipped in 13 points and 15 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Cuban center Marvin Cairo (203-1991) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. Cojute moved-up to fourth place. Salvadorenos at the other side keep the seventh position with ten games lost. Cojute will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Salvadorenos will play at home against Santiagueno (#10) and hope to get back on the winning track.
The game between third ranked A.Lobos (15-3) and 11th ranked Brujos (1-18) in on Tuesday ended with biggest points difference. A.Lobos outscored guests from Izalco 119-52. Jerome Savoy nailed 45 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Hugo Ventura came up with 14 points for Brujos in the defeat. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for A.Lobos. They moved-up to second place, which they share with San Salvador. Loser Brujos stay dead last with 18 lost games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
In the last game of round 21 Santa Tecla was beaten by Independiente on the road 82-71.
